Pet lizard bearded dragons are very docile reptile that breed well in captivity. This pet would be one of the best choices for any pet owner that would like to adopt a reptile.

1. The first thing you need to know is what kind of bearded dragon you want to pick out .

There are many different species of dragons out there for starters i owuld recommend a Sandfire or regular bearded dragons. As you keep higher with experience there are different kinds of morphs suchs as red dragon translucent and hypo.

picking your first dragon is difficult but fun i would pick up your first one at a pet store although they are alittle more expensive they still get cared for and feed right. For future kinds i would go to a pet show and expo where a variaty of different  kinds are. When picking it look at its behavior is it sitting around with its head down or running around like there is a cricket out side get the fast and alert one. Ask to pick it up when you do make sure its not scared or shaking. look at its eyes make sure they are wide open and not shut or dimmed.

If the dragon you want is all of the above then GET IT. also dont get a young one unless you want to spend half your day with it.

2. when you first get it ,it might not eat for 2-3 days that is normal . but when it doesnt it for more then that give it a bath make the water up to its chest then it show digest its last eatten food then it should Start to eat. when you get it in its new cage make sure it is a 20 long or bigger to small will cause stress on the dragon and could stop growing. make sure you have a basking spot/hot spot and a cool spot. the tempature in the cage should reach 99-115 degrees. NO ROCKS. no rocks on the hot spot if  there is it can cause hot belly infection/which is when organs and blood gets to hot and starts to boil up/ sounds weird BUT happens. when you are at the show remember to get cover/ not to much but enough for leg room and and stick the reachs up 7 inchs away from the basking bulb.
